Maddy graduated from Eastern Michigan University in December 2017 Summa Cum Laude with her BSN, then began working at Michigan Medicine on the surgical transplant unit. She quickly decided to attend the University of Michigan to obtain her doctorate. She continued to work on the transplant unit throughout pursuing her doctorate and family nurse practitioner certification. She was a primary unit charge nurse as well as a new grad preceptor in her 4 years stay at Michigan Medicine. She graduated with her DNP in December 2021 and became board certified as family nurse practitioner (FNP-C) through AANP. She is also board certified through WOCNCB as an Advanced Practice Certified Wound Care Nurse (CWCN-AP). She has a passion for patient centered wound care as well as "healing wounds!" ![](https://www.encompasshealthcare.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Kitty_MeetTeam.webp) ## Office Facilitator ## Kitty Carpenter Katherine “Kitty” Carpenter’s job title is Office Facilitator, but she’s really our “Office Everything.” If a patient needs a test, Kitty schedules it. If a patient needs a wound vac put on, she installs it. If a patient needs ANYTHING, Kitty will make it happen. She can be on one phone line scheduling an appointment, on another line getting a patient’s records faxed over, checking off her “to-do” list and unjamming a copy machine—all at the same time! This is no exaggeration. Our wound care staff and its attitude all begins with Kitty’s infectious smile.
